A truly revolutionary new rifle — the HK SL8-M16 is constructed almost entirely of a tough, carbon-fiber reinforced polymer. The new SL8-M16 departs from the roller-locked bolt system traditionally used in many HK rifles, it uses a proven short stroke, piston-actuated gas operating system, well known for simplicity and reliability.

Designed and engineered to deliver exceptional shooting performance, the SL8-M16 is already a favorite among European rifle shooters. Several modular sighting systems are planned; including extended and short Picatinny rails with open sights, a 1.5x scope with integral carry handle, and a dual optical system that combines a 3x scope with an electronic red dot sight.

Other features include a cold hammer forged heavy barrel for precision accuracy, fully adjustable open sights, removable cheekpiece, ambidextrous safety/selector lever, and a detachable 10, 20 or 30 round M16 magazine. The ergonomic and clean lines of the SL8-M16 are functional and modern, giving the SL8-M16 the look and feel of a 21st-century firearm.
